The 2013 Merrimack Valley Film Festival Winners

After receiving nearly 40 entries from high schools all around the Merrimack Valley 16 of those entries were nominated to receive awards. Those that were nominated represented the best of what high schools within the Merrimack Valley are producing. Having said that there can be only one winner and here are those winners by category.

Best-Fiction-Writing-Editing-Video-Feeherer copy

Derek Feehrer (pictured above) and Joe Berardis, from Westford Academy, came away winning four categories, best fiction piece, best writing, best editing and best videography with their “Nobody” movie trailer and “The Bridge” fiction piece.

Best-News-Nashoba copy

Representing Nashoba Valley Tecnical High School’s TV Media/ Arts program is Ellice Cinningham and Rebecca Reese (pictured above). Nashoba Tech came away with the win for best news piece with their “Republican Report” news package.

Best-Non-Ficton-Rojas copy

Lowell High Student, Julian Rojas (pictured above) won best no-fiction piece for his ‘Tetris‘ documentary.

Best-Directing-Hopkins copy

Patrick Hopkins from Amesbury High School took the win for best directing for his piece “The Perks of an Addiction“.

Best-PSA-Williams copy

Kris Williams, from Lowell High School, won best public service announcement, with his “Anti-bullying PSA“.
